I <3 To Be Mooooooved....

Keone Madrid. I am so proud of him and his accomplishments!! To think I met this freaking dance prodigy when he was 14 or 15 at Team Nacu's 1st rehearsal @ Miramar Base!! Lol... Some people are blessed with GOD GIVEN TALENTS...

And where the heck did these Japanese dancers come from??! I just realized they are the same 3 in the Lyle Beniga video from Urban Legends I posted a week or two ago and the same ones in both Keone vids I posted below!!! 'Scuze me HELLA DOPE!!

Fanny Pak's Carnival - Feb 2009 (Matt Cady is a fool for this one... thats in a good way!!)

AMAZING... these are my favs for right now... It is great to watch dance evolve. New individuals that have surfaced to inspire new and upcoming dancers just as I was (and STILL AM) with my "icons/idols". Different things float different boats. Respect. I just wiiiiiiish dance hadn't become so "mainstream" and "faddish". For most people who truly love to dance this is a craft that is nurtured and taken very very seriously. An escape, a lifelong dream lived everyday, a true love.. what may you. Many dancers eat, breathe, bleed DANCE. And its just disappointing to see some people not have the same care and devotion as others do. Know your roots plain and simple. And Im not talking about Showcase circa 2004 either. On top of that... I know tis a great gift to be inspired but PLEASE make it your OWN. I dont choreograph. So I cant really speak completely from a "choreographers" stand point, BUT with those that do or at least the ones that I've watched recently (thank you YOUTUBE) its all starting to look the same. How to explain?? Ok, so with the clips above... I am inspired by Keone's musicality... and his execution. Same with Fanny Pak's... With those specific pieces they stayed true to the FEELING of what the song exudes. "Oohhhh Ahh" is sexy... I got sexy from that piece. You can freak it sexy if you were to learn it. I dont know if that makes sense. Coz in my head it does. I wouldn't try to choreograph and take moves from Keone or Matt. I'd LEARN to think outside the box more... be cleaner (for my own sake)... REMEMBER that I CAN do floor work etc.. but I'd make it ME. So that if I were to ever showcase it & people liked/loved it, I will have inspired them by ME and only ME. Not, "oh.. Love's piece was dope BUT didnt it feel like something so and so would do?"...

I can see simliarities in some peoples choreo and only SOME have accomplished in making it thier own. And Im sure its not the easiest thing to be innovative.. I mean if you & everyone else liked it, why wouldn't others like what you put out right? Its because others will see the falacy of your product and that yes, you were inspired, but its still somebody elses and not truly yours.
