In short, the next 2-3 weeks (at least) are likely to be more active across California than any other 2-3 week period in recent memory. The potential exists for a dangerous flood scenario to arise at some point during this interval, especially with the possibility of a heavy rain-on-snow event during late week 2. In some parts of Southern California, a whole season's worth of rain could fall over the course of 5-10 days. This is likely to be a rather memorable event. Stay tuned...
No joke. And this afternoon I saw it first hand what kind of scary/craziness Mother Nature can cause.
Silver Ford F250 going 5 North hydroplaned over 3 lanes, thru a chain link fence that is parralel to Santa Fe Street that my office is on, over Santa Fe Street itself, onto our front lawn just missing a telephone pole, a tree & the front of my building - ALL AS I SAT AT MY DESK watching it happen in slow motion. I seriously thought it was going to crash into the building and into me. I was so freaked out. Miraculously he didnt hit ANYONE else on the road (driving, biking or jogging as Santa Fe Street is frequented by all three on a daily basis - raining or not) nor did his truck flip over. Ironically, the driver was a police officer himself!! Talk about using up one of your 9 lives buddy!
The part of the chain link fence that he crashed thru - those two lanes of road is Santa Fe Street & the grass is our front lawn!!

The spot between the tree & telephone pole he came barreling thru before finally coming to a stop in our driveway!!! Poor bumper got ripped off!

Then an hour later two more accidents happen! Two firetrucks, tow trucks & ambulances all up along the 5 North right in front of my office! That's the driveway the first truck ended up in. The boys checking out the madness...

Please be careful everyone. GOD BLESS & WATCH OVER ALL OF US DURING THESE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS...
